Interview with Yoav Barel, CEO of Chatbot Summit

Yoav, please tell us about your background? What have you done so far?

I am a tech entrepreneur and have been working in tech over 17 years. It has been an honor to take part in the last several digital revolutions: mobile java, apps and now, bots. I love it. My work lets me create the best digital lifestyle experiences.

Over the years, I formed and led a group at Sun Microsystems, which developed and deployed mobile applications with leading Telco’s including Vodafone, DoCoMo, and Orange. At Oracle, I led a great team that put the first Telco App Store on Android, and we were the first to deploy it in the US with Verizon Wireless.

As Head of Mobile Products and Strategy at LivePerson, I was part of the spearhead team creating the first Enterprise App-Messaging product for customer service and and launching it with T-Mobile in the US. During the development of that product, it hit me that conversational experience is going to be the next digital revolution. We called them back then “Conversational Service Apps”.
